Hi everyone. I am just starting with this Flash stuff and am attempting to create a Flash intro for a website. I have it basically finished, but there are some parts where text that I have conveted to symbols have an unwanted "streaking" effect. What happens is small parts of the text (symbol) smear from right to left for the entire instance of the symbol. Here is a link to where I have it on my personal site. The glitches are obvious when you watch the movie. The site as limited bandwidth, so if it won't display, you have to check back after an hour....lol

Also, since the movie is almost 1.5mb, I would like to create a load page for it, but I have no clue where to begin with that.

Any help would be greatly appriciated. And, if I need to send the .fla file to anyone so you can have a look at it, I have absolutly no problem with that. Thanks.

They start out the exact same size, then (obviously lol) fade out. I have tried all I can think of to do. I have competely deleted the layers containing the text symbols and recreated them with the same results. I have copied the frames and pasted them into a new (blank) movie and they still have the glitchy stuff...I'm dumbfounded...lol

Awesome. Do I need to send you any files? Or can you do it without any?

Can't get it to do the same here. What kind of tween are you using?

Motion tween...move from center to upper right, alpha from 100% to 0%, size from 100% to 1%....when the first glitch happens.

It seems that Flash just doesn't get along with the particilar font you're using on the parts that distort. I tried it using a different font on those parts and all was well. Try substituting the Rauch font with something else.
Also try changing the audio stream to MP3, this should reduce the swf size quite a bit.

As for a pre-loader, check out this [ Register or login to view links on this board.] icon_razz.gif
