Hi Everybody,
I was wondering what other picture galleries there is besides coppermine. I tried using that and when I fix one error with a fix made by coppermine, I get lots of other errors after the fix is installed. From the look of their forums, they also don't like to help people with the new versions of phpnuke (7.1). Just trying to find a half way decent gallery to use. Any ideas????

P.S. Please provide a link to an alternative gallery if possible.

I had a lot of experience with those forums when I installed a Coppermine gallery on a client's website and needed to customize it. They don't like to help people with ANYTHING!

It's a typical case of the "experts" thinking they're too high and mighty to help the people using their product. What they fail to realize if people didn't use their gallery, then nobody would need help, then they'd have noone to be high and mighty to!

Sad to say, this is a common scenario among help forums. Really makes ya appreciate the Codezwiz community.

Kelly

I thought it was just me...LMAO (I had the same experience) so I ventured into some unknown waters...the style.css in both my nuke theme and coppermine. I just upgraded to the newest version (1.2.2b) and it went very smooth and I have it customized pretty much the way I want at the moment. On a side note I have never had a problem with coppermine since I have been using the various versions for the past 8 months or so.

Hi Again,
Thanks Grim for the link, will check it out today yet. And as far as the rest of the posts, ty for speaking your mind about coppermine also. I agree that with a gallery used as much as coppermine is, they should at least have some type of support team. They seem to have the little title tags next to their names, yet believe it is just for looks. Cuz one trend I noticed with their so-called "support forums" is that they do not want to help anybody using the old version of the coppermine gallery, and with the same breath they do not want to help anybody that uses a phpnuke over a 6.9. And when people do ask for help while using phpnuke 6.9 they always ask if you have read the instruction text file. I read it and it tells you what to upload....no codes to change....just upload. I guess that with the glitches with their gallery, it is one way to boost up their site traffic. Offer a product that will NOT work the first time and make a forum for them to post their probs in...lol. If I knew how to make my own gallery, I would. icon_smile.gif Anybody else have another gallery for me to check out please let me know so I have a few to choose from if you don't mind.

Thanks,
RedWolf111

P.S. Yes Kelly, CodezWiz has spoiled me and I am sure alot of other people....lol. Makes ya wonder why some forums help sites dont seem to care..icon_smile.gif

Thanks Grim for the links. Gives me a nice choice for a gallery other than coppermine. So far the first one (Gallery), the help forum staff seem to at least treat the users with some respect and not talk to them like idiots...lol. Will check out the other two though.
