Hey Red,

OK let me see if i can ask this right. lol

I have been trying to learn FlASHMX and have produced a couple clip that when SOME people try to load them it gets to 50 to 80% and just stalls out. Now other movies I have made that have been just as big these same people are able to load straight from web.

I have even went as far with 2 of these people to help them update their flash player and still same problem. So i sent them the .swf file and told them to open it with Ie and when they did it played fine.

So my question is....

Have you had this happen, is it sumthing I am doing wrong with my publishing settings, or is it something within the viewers browser that is pruned up that i have no control over?

here's a movie that i just made that SOME people are complaining about

This movie is 2.6meg

the publishing setting are

swf and html

flash,

version 6 (which i tried to produce movie at a lower flash version but it said i couldn't because of the movie clip thats in movie)

load order is bottom up

protect from import

jpeg quality is 80

and i have overide sound settings checked with both stream and event sounds set at Mp3 16kbps mono

Html,

flashonly
%
100x100
display menu & loop
quality high
window mode window
align default
scale exact fit
flash align hoz center ver centered
and display warning message

Strange, the only thing I can think of is that either their connection farts during the load, or your server farts. Something is farting to be sure. eusa_think.gif Does it happen repeatedly for the same people? or do they get it eventually?

u probably not gonna believe this. I KNOW I DON"T lol

1st to answer your question yes i even changed movie (put a replay button on it) published it and uploaded and had one of the people try loading it 3 different times. and no go

so i decided to try an experiment and in flashmx instead of publishing movie i hit f12 to preview

then i uploaded the file that was created for the preview and had her try to load movie again and it worked for her.

maybe sumthing not just right with my flash program? and i should re-instal?

I thought the swf that was created when u klik f12 and the one that was created when u published was exactly the same but then i remember sumthing (not quite sure what it was) when i was taking my flash5 class.

teacher told us NOT to publish are movie only to use the preview files until ---- and thats all i can remember (OLD age ya know)

i don't remember reason why so this is very baffling.

Things to try (from the clutching at straws dept)

1. Get rid of any unused symbols/library items
2. Copy all the frames into an totally new Flash movie and rename/resave/re-publish
3. Take up the Baverian Nose Flute, but don't buy one off anyone whos recently had a heavy cold.

Thats all I can think of, there's likely to be some corruption somewhere, hopefully the above will produce a clean swf
