There is something wrong with the user Permissions option in my Forum Admin panel. I can give user groups moderator rights, but it doesn't work for individuals. Also, I can't give users Admin rights.

When I go to User Permissions and select a user, everything works fine, but when I alter the user's permissions and hit submit, nothing changes. It doesn't give any errors or anything. It actually says that it has changed the settings just like normal, but it doesn't actually do anything. I can't figure out what is wrong. It has been this way since the beginning, I just never got around to trying to fix it. Anybody have any ideas?

This happened me aswell at the start, what u need to do is cleanyour cookies and our temporary internet files, then reboot your computer. Your cookies settings might also be too high or too low (i cant remember what i was told it was a while back he he, but first try to clear your cookies then try to delte your temporary internet files, and reboot if that doesnt work, change your cookie settings (this is what i did)

I have been cleaning my cookies and deleting offline content constantly as that is the only way I can seem to log out. However, this doesn't seem to help this permissions settings issue. I will try to play around with my cookie settings and see if that helps.

Hmm... I set my security settings to low, and it didn't have an effect on anything when I selected Admin from the User dropdown menu on the user permissions page. However, when I tried to set individual moderator rights, I got the following error:

Couldn't update private forum permissions

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 0)' at line 2

Anybody know what's wrong?

This is a common error. Try searching or looking through the Knowledge Base. icon_mrgreen.gif
