Now Im sure this is a common issue and I searched the forums and KB for info but couldnt find the fix.

A lot of my users are trying to upload avatars and it isnt working.

It will say it uploaded the image but all they will get is a broken link next to their name.

Any suggestions, or can you point me to a fix thats already been done?

I had to search and search for the answer when this happen to me if the images is in your gallery and your getting blank image goto your blocks folder on your server and open up block-User_Info.php look for code below

/***********************************************************************************************************************/
$TBLWIDTH = "98%"; # WIDTH OFF THE BLOCK CAN BE % OFF OR FIXED SIZE LIKE 150
$GALLERY = "gallery"; # WHEN YOU DONT SEE AVATARS AS GUEST OR MEMBER TYPE gallery BETWEEN THE 2 QUOTES $GALLERY = "gallery";
$PM = "1"; # 1 = PRIVATE MESSAGES BLOCK ON / 0 = PRIVATE MESSAGES BLOCK OFF
$ST = "1"; # 1 = SECURITY CODE ON / 0 = SECURITY CODE OFF
/***********************************************************************************************************************/

type gallery between the two quotes like i did on above left you will see what i mean when you open it hope this helps ya out
also I took all the images in main avatar folder and put them inside the gallery folder and went to site configuration and mad it that path /modules/Forums/images/avatars/gallery
it should by default be this way but ya never know GooD LUCK

... are you sure that user can't upload avatar to server ??? ... there are serverals things to get fix:

1st ... in your forum ... go to Forum Adminintration ---> from there you give the user the right to upload avatar from user computer

2nd ... maybe ... your didn't change the MODE 777 ... (you can change this in your FTP) change your folder forum/image/avatars ---> to change Mod 777 -->this is the folder that users used to upload avatar to ...

I hope with these info. you can fix the problem ... so Good Luck ! ... icon_smile.gif
