Hi guys,

Decided that since I'm doing a fresh install (7.3) and I have the rest of the summer, that this time I'll do it right...

I have a few questions that I think will help me figure this out...Any help will be appreciated....

1. phpbb 2.0.4 would mean the 4th revision of phpbb2 right?

2. If this were listed as phpbb 2.0.4+ in the listing of downloads, then this means that it must be used on that version or higher?

3. what does this mean phpbb 2.0.x ? the x confused me...also what if there is an * instead.

Thanks

Sabastina

1. yes
2. correct
3. the x is just a variable that denotes any version that is 2.0. and higher

Thanks Taut!

OK so now when I add various mods there is always a possibility that they could mess each other up isn't there?

Primarily I plan to go with those offered here...but I still worry about compatability...

Also, does anyone have a suggestion of an easy method to organize things while working on them? I've tried a couple, but when something goes wrong, I get frustrated and confused and mess everything up worse trying to fix it...I'm thinking that a good system might help...

Thanks,

Sabastina

the possibility although yes it is there is a very slim chance. more often then not, the eerors you will encounter are editing errors or upload corruption of files. the mods that were done should ALL work together in your site.

as for your second question, we ecah have our own way of doing things. what works for me is, after I upload the mod I want to add, I then add another folder inside that mod for my backups. this keeps both info in one main folder, backups and original copies of the install file and added files, but that's just me

great, let me know if it's any easier for you. I'm sure the others have their own way of doing things as well
