I have a fresh install of 7.3 without any major problems. I just added my first web link to try out the scrolling links block by telli and it isn't working properly. The scrolling links block works fine, but the actual link is broken. I tested the link in the web-links module as well and get the same bad url.

The url that loads for the link is:

http://www.thehuffordzone.com/phpnuke/viewlinkdetails-1-.html


I've tried several different links that I know work fine (tomshardware, google, etc) and get the same result. I re-uploaded that module as well with the same results. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Ok I havn't a clue whats going on with it. It's like it doesnt want to refresh and send you to the page. Lets try something open the modules/Web_links/index.php and find the function visit

function visit($lid) {
    global $prefix, $db;
    $lid = intval($lid);
    $hits = intval($hits);
    $db->sql_query("update ".$prefix."_links_links set hits=hits+1 where lid=$lid");
    $result = $db->sql_query("select url from ".$prefix."_links_links where lid=$lid");
    list($url) = $db->sql_fetchrow($result);
    Header("Location: $url");
}


change that
Header("Location: $url");
to
Header("Refresh: 0; url=$url");


I dunno if it will work or not. Also compare the two functions see if they look the same.

it was a bad installation - i re-ftp's the nuke 7.3 and skipped over the existing files. My original install must have been missing some files because it is all working now.
