Not to let this topic die....how about I look at a maybe more simple approach. (I never have gotten this to work)

Is it possible to have a member automatically become a member of a group (Subscriber) when they become a subscriber. I know there would have to be some kind of check on the paid function, but isn't this still possible?

Group permissions already do what I basically want done. They hide the forums from others, and only allow members of the specific group to post, reply, etc..

I replied to your email yesterday that you where making it harder then you needed too. All you want to do is check if the Forums is set for subscribers and if it is, are they paid. Thats all you need right?

I am looking to have the forums hidden unless a member is in the subscriber status. Then the forum can be viewed. This is to also include registered user forums too. Basically it works the same way as a user group that subscribers are automatically added to when they become subscribers. If they are a member of the usergroup, they can see the forum.

That's why I thought it would be easier to set up a usergroup to automatically include subscribers.

Yes you could do that too just add them into a group when they subscribe. Do you plan on having that many that you want it automated or you gonna do it manually?
