Filling an Array with MySql Data?

How would I go about filling an array with data from the database. For example say I did this:

Select user_id from nuke_users'


How would I store the values that query returns in a php array. What I ultimately want is to fill the array with the data from a sql query then pick a random value from that array. Any thoughts? I'm stumpped.

I need a little more info that that. Whats the array for? Why store it for a random array just order it by rand().

Take this for example:
SELECT game_id
FROM nuke_bbgames ;


I run that query that in turn produces this:

game_id 
10
32
34
35
38
41
42
85
89


I want to now randomly pick one of those values. I figured I must have to store those in an array, then pick a random index from that array where these values are stored.

Ultimately I need to randomly pick one of the values returned from the query.

Maybe im not understanding fully what your trying to do here but you want to order the game_id random?

SELECT game_id
FROM nuke_bbgames ORDER BY rand() ;


You can then use that in a string to pick it which would be random.

Its late and im tired so if im wrong just post back and i will take a look tomm.

Thanks I was able to figure it out using "ORDER BY rand() LIMIT 1". Thank you again.
