I have a question and I think it was already answered up above from Staffie. Is this legal and all? I have some mp3s and I would love to do this but don't want any trouble for having mp3's on my server. I really don't want the RIAA or who ever it is breathing down my back and into my wallet. icon_razz.gif Thanks,
echo

PS... Install says something about the: server.xml. What is that? I downloaded the FNMINImp3 block on this site.

are you sure it says server.xml??

This is not illegal as you are not making your mp3's available for Download or to share with anyone else. You are merely playing it on your site. If it is a crime i prolly gonna get in trouble as i have about 60+ files on my server. lol.

Heres what the install guide says:

Installation

1.Must make some changes in the server.xml. Replace all
'name' and 'file' to your own links to your website.
For exmaple look at playlist.xml. You can also create more playlist.

2.Copy all files and directories in the subdirectories of 'html' directory
to your phpnuke installation directory.

-block-FNMINImp3.php in blocks folder
-rest of the files in root
-create folder 'music' in root and put there all your mp3 files.

3. Add block in admin menu from your phpnuke website!

4. That's it! Have Fun and send us your suggestions!

Ah right, the server.xml is exactly like the playlist.xml, if you open it up you will see that it should include example mp3 addresses etc.

I am also having a difficult time installing this block. when i unzipped the package, i got these files, and uploaded them to the following places:

Block-FnMinimp3.php /nuke/block
flcdpopup.htm /nuke
FNMINImp3.swf /nuke
Install Guide.txt /nuke (not that it matters)
playlist.xml /nuke

the block shows up, the remote works correctly, and it shows the songs listed. but it does not play. the instructions are as follows:

Installation

1.Must make some changes in the server.xml. Replace all
'name' and 'file' to your own links to your website.
For exmaple look at playlist.xml. You can also create more playlist.

2.Copy all files and directories in the subdirectories of 'html' directory
to your phpnuke installation directory.

-block-FNMINImp3.php in blocks folder
-rest of the files in root
-create folder 'music' in root and put there all your mp3 files.

3. Add block in admin menu from your phpnuke website!

I did not receive a file called server.xml, but just for good measure, i created one, and copied the source directly from the fnminimp3.swf file.

my songs are in a folder: nuke/music

both swf files look like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<radio>
<station name="FN0" text="Playlist0">
<song>
<title>I Know Love</title>
<file>http://www.stebeniniraq.com/nuke/music/iknowlove.mp3</file>
</song>

</station>
</radio>

what am i doing wrong? =)

See this is the reason i'm in search for a better mp3 playa for my site... i just recently deleted minimp3 cause it sux for 1 main reason sum people can hear it others can't even when they drop there firewalls and usin the same browser... simple enuf block, don't have anyclue what's conflicting and i have bin searchin for an answer for awhile now... thus the reason i'm here @ the moment... Anutha problem i had with it was after awhile it would for sum reason not play certain songs ... sounds strange but true, i checked all code and links everything was as when installed....
So anyways any1 know of a better mp3 playa i've tried 5 so far,, the only thing left is to try the "tweaked version" on this site... then i guess i'll have 2 write an html and integrate into a block i suppose... but i'm fkn lazy,,,
Any news would b good news!!
