Hi,

I had a problem providing the appropriate permission in phpnuke mysql database. I cannot open phpnuke without using the "root" as database user. On the contrary using root as dbuser would open phpnuke without any problem.

Nonetheless, I understand this would really a security risk.

What would be the appropriate permission for the user after creating the database?

I made the following in setting the permission:

mysql> grant all privileges on nuke.* to sqluser@localhost identified by 'passwd';
mysql> \q

I also did this:

mysql> grant all on nuke.* to sqluser@localhost identified by 'passwd';
mysql> \q

And made the appropriate entries on the config.php file.

But, whenever I open phpnuke an error came out as follows:

"There seems to be a problem with the MySQL server, sorry for the inconvenience."

How can I fix the problem?

Hope you can help me.

Thanks and more power.

Did you reboot the server?

Hi Telli,

Thank you for your responce.

Yes, Ialready did that.

Currently my server are now running without any problem. And I've been using it for quite some time now. However, it is still connecting to mysql using root account--this is my worry at the moment.

Hope u can help me.
