i recently installed the rank_gain_access mod and encountered 2 problems:

first, i edited the mod so that it will run through the built in 7.2 points system which i think i succeeded but something went wrong with the points update of the 7.2 point system it doesn't update anymore.

second, i noticed in the installation instruction overview that the file includes/usercp_register.php will be edited but it wasn't included in the whole editing process.

any help would be much appreciated.

there was no need to reconfigure anything. As the description in the download section said:

You can easily change the user_points to just points and use it in the Nuke Points version also.

actually i did edited the" user_points" and "user_points_minimum" to "points" and "points_minimum" respectively, and i was able to make the rank_gain_access mod to run using the built in phpNuke7.2 points system but the problem is since the editing the built in points system doesnt work anymore it stops updating points to users participating in the site.

by the way, this is a great support site. browsing through the forums i really noticed you all give special attention to coders with problems. keep it up!

you may have overwritten some of the files also try and run the suggested fixes in this topic:

hi taut i viewed the help topic in nukefixes but the fix is just for updating points regarding posting and replying to forums only the problem im having now is that no points is updated totally to users including viewing of pages, sending of feedback , rating etc.

its possible that i may have overwritten something but i dont know which of the 8 files, can you tell me which of the 8 files to be edited in rank gain access is directly related to the updating of points?

check in the mainfile.php. in the update_points section. if your not sure what it should look like, dl a version that is the same as yours and compare them

this seems to be happening to a lot of people lately...the last 3 posts here are about points problems

hi taut, i found a fix already regarding the non updating of points and its a-ok now.

but i noticed another problem (i think) with regards to the viewing of topic because i have chosen points instead of posts as the access to my ranks now when i view the posts it still shows the number of posts the members have instead of number points. how do i get around this?

hi taut, its not only the points that is missing also the rank title is inexistent in the viewtopic. is having usergroups and forum ranks at the same time the problem to this? do i need to delete my usergroups to give way to forum ranks?

the one you have here in codezwiz viewtopic forums is exactly what im trying to have working in my site.
