Hi,
I am trying to install GT-NExtGeN_Beta_0.4 to make my site more SE friendly and I think my problem lies within the htaccess file. My problem is when I have that installed in the root directory of my test site, it gives me a 403 error as an admin and as a user. Can somebody please take a look at it and let me know if something is wrong? I didnt change it at all but when i delete it from my directory then I can log in fine and also adjust the modules to the .html addy I want to achieve. The urls dont work as .html but I dont know what else it might be. The forums for their support look like they have spiderwebs in the corners...lol. Or where can I get the same results with an easier add-on? Somewhere I seen that NSN had one, but I tried a search there and without know what its called I turned up 0 results. Find this line in the .htaccess:

RewriteEngine on


and add this under it. See if that makes a differance.


Options +FollowSymlinks

made a world of difference Telli...Thanks again. One quick question though..can I still use the czmv4 and will it be SE friendly also? or doesnt a search engine use that thing?

or maybe an easier question is what will work with SE and what doesnt....majority of the time anyways..lol

You should see an option when you select edit next to a module to add a GT Url. icon_wink.gif

I have Nextgen 0.4 installed and all is working reletively well and all the sudden when someone logs out of user or admin, the next page they try to go to is a 403 error.
I'd have to close the browser and open a new one to be able to browse the site again.

No idea what was happening. I was gonna post it here when I came across this thread.
Not sure why, but it fixed it thumbsup.gif

Any idea what was causing it? I hate to put in a fix and not know WHY it fixed it eusa_dance.gif
