Users keep getting that error when they try to chnage their username. I get the same error if i trry to change it through administration. I have special characters allowed and have no clue why that error is coming up.

users cant change their username through their forum profile

in forums admin i cant change usernames to anything with symbols. but symbols are allowed

i upgraded to 7.4 patched from 7.3 i had the problem where i couldnt access anything in admin. so i replaced the admin files with the new ones. that was fixed. someone on my site told me they couldnt vote on the survey block, i replaced the block and the module, it was fixed. ive trried replacing the Your account module, and the forums module. its not letting me change usernames to names with special characters. i installed a fresh copy of phpnuke 7.4 patched, its not letting users change their name with special characters or admins. is there anyway for someone to hack whatever file is causing this so i can have special characters allowed. i need them for new members to my clan to change their username with the clan tag.

okay well i think what is making this happen is phpnuke 7.4. i created a fresh install of 7.4 patched on my test site, then replaced all the files to phpnuke 7.3. now on my test site, users can change their usernames to have special characters. now the only problem is the admin area.

after i log in to admin.php, i dont have any options. all i see is logout/exit. i had this problem when i updated to 7.4. to fix it i replaced the files to 7.4. i want to stay 7.3, so how would i go about fixing this problem? right now the site is 7.3, i think, not too sure because in the statistics module it doesnt show the version, but since its allowing special characters im pretty sure it is 7.3(99% sure). anyways how would i go about fixing this? or if someone can fix this for me on my test site, then give me instructions of what to do for the main site
