Try looking at the TOP of the forums viewtopic.php file before the <? and make sure that nothing accidentally got pasted there! I had a bunch of code come up at the top pof some of my pages turned out it was cause there was stuff pasted outside of the <? marks. (if it's not in that file, you may want to check the other files you edited as well)

also...I had a friend that did that while he created his forums and it also did the same things you mentioned. As far as I know, and I could be wrong, you can't control the color of the fonts from there, that is why there is the CSS file to do it with

Gareth,

What I meant to say was that the extra coding that is appearing on your pages could be due to having material outside the primary <? tag. Sorry to be unclear.

Ummlook at the files that you has altered. At the very beginning, before any writing begins there should be <?
if there is ANYTHING before this, it will appear on your pages toward the top of your actual site!
