Hello, how do you make a button stay down when you click on it? Everytime I click on a button it doesn't stay down and returns to it's original up state. Also, when I use the over feature, people can move their cursor over different areas instead of the button and see what action it performs. I'm really looking to limit the area only to the button so when you move the cursor everywhere besides the button nothing will appear. Thank you for your help.

Do you mean the action of the button or the visual effect? If it's the visual effect then you'll probably have to create a 'down state' graphic to show when the button is pressed.
As far as I know the button 'down state' is a momentaty action rather than a latching action.
As for the area of the button, I usualy make a rectangle or circle to actually perform the button functions, then yu can size it how you need it.

Hello, I have an over state, down state, and a hit state that are the same. To see what I am actually working on, go to [ Register or login to view links on this board.] . If you go over the ocean part, you'll notice that the action shows up whereever you move your cursor. I just want it to be where you can only drag your cursor over the red dots and the van to make the area active and that's it. I hope this clarifies what I am talking about. I appreciate your support.

It seems like you have button actions on the text and the lines as well as the van and the dots, that's why you're getting the problem. You only need the button actions applied to the red dots and the van. The text and lines need no actions at all.

I thru together a crude flash of what I thought you were attempting to do.

Basicly its a 5 frame movie frame 1 is the 4 buttons is there ready states then 2, 3, 4 and 5 are the down states of each button.

When movie loads, you mouse over buttons till you find the one you want, when you klik it the move jumps to the frame that has the image of the button in its down state. The other buttons in that frame have the A/S

on (rollOver) {
gotoAndPlay(1);
}
