I was wondering if it was possible to use arrays as conditions.

for instance say i wanted to use the following query:

UPDATE table SET 1 = * + * , 2 = * + *, 3 = * + * WHERE y = '".$x["y"]."'

the reson i need to compare y with an array in the WHERE clause is because the array would come from a previous query which could return a different number of results each time, for instance it could range from 1-6 or 1-7 or 1-8 ect.
