Advice re: Display/download categorized list of articles?

Folks,

I would like to display a list of categorized publications and allow a user to select the category, read an article summary, and then either download a PDF or click on a URL to read the publication. I'd like to be able to administer it by submitting the Title, description text, offsite URL and/or PDF download link (there may be multiple offsite links for each publication). This is loosely based off of the current site at [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] particularly the SERVICES section.


The navigation menu looks like this:

Publications
- Articles
- Presentations
- Whitepapers
- Newsletters

When the user clicks on the Publications item, they are brought to a summary page with each of the 4 categories represented and perhaps excerpts from each category displayed.

Selecting the categories will bring up a page listing further subcategorized summaries (ie. under Articles, there will be "Customer Insight", "Demand Chain Management", "Chief Customer Officer", etc. In each of these subcategories will be listed article summaries and download links.

So, whaddya think? Are there modules you could suggest as a starting point?
