I searched first but did not find anything explaining what Author's Administration (found under the admin link Edit Admins) does. There were some posts with specific issues but nothing explaining the feature itself.

I can add an admin but it does not allow login as a member or as an admin (admin.php). The admin added does not show up as a new member.

Can someone give more information about how this feature would be used?

Thank you

That is where you add more admins to your site. It does not make them as members, they will have to register as normal users of your site.

If you are having trouble with your site saving that information, this topic might help you further:

It saves them fine and they show up in the list but can not login to admin.php. Should they be able to log into admin.php or is it only for module restriction etc and not a login thing?

I read the post at the link above before posting this thread and several others but I am still confused about just what features should work. I see you can select different areas such as stories, does that mean they will only have access to the stories admin area or that they can submit stories without approval?

They should login through the admin.php page. If you have given them stories permission, then yes they can add stories without getting approval.

That page is basically where you give permissions to your added admins. It tells the site/db what each admin is "allowed" to have control over.
