OK I have changed host and finally the nameserver is pointing to the right site, I done a manual upload of my ftp directory from the old site to the new. Downloaded a sql db backup, uploaded it to the new server. Now I am getting this famous page

There seems to be a problem with the MySQL server, sorry for the inconvenience.

We should be back shortly.

What I'm i doing wrong here? The sites been down long enough and my members keep on emailing me so its kind of stressfull, and being fustrated isnt helping either icon_sad.gif

have you reconfigured your config file to read the correct information for the new server?

yeah i think so, its all named the same,i went into mysql via cpanel, and i made the user name the same as i did on the other host, only thing thats changed is the pass and i changed that. Cause when i go in myphpadmin it wouldnt let me upload the sql file there cause it exceeded the max size limit so i went into backup via cpanel, back up database and done it that way. Only thing i can see diffrent from the settings in the cpanels from the old host and the new is a local host setting that i dont have for my new one

only one thing i cna suggest and that's to contact your new hosting service and make sure that is what they recommend. Some hosts use the ip while others just use localhost

The SQL error you're getting just means that your site is not connecting to SQL. So double check everything in there.

For example, you may have named your db "nuke" but the server hosting your site has many sites running from the same box...so the db may need to be named something like "YourURL_com_-_nuke"

Check your username and password and make sure they are the same username and password for your db. It may not be the same as with your old host. Hope this helps.
