Greets...!
So.. I have been constructing my site for the past few weeks, maybe I don't know much about PHP but I've searched and downloaded almost every addon & mod there is out there that could help me and I'm learning fast.

But I DO need your help cause some addons make a lot of modifications in the database and I wouldn't like this to happen if it's for nothing.

So I'm hoping for participation in this thread, say your opinions, your selections, your favourites, what you use, how satisfied you are, anything, so we can help each other choose and use the best of the best.

And of course the main question is: WHICH IS THE BEST?

Note 1: Basically we're talking about 6.5+ mods here. In the future maybe I'll make a similar thread concerning BB forum mods.

PS: If you also notice any newer versions than the ones I have or any incompatibilities with latest nuke versions, it would be good to post it.

I'm afraid soon I'm gonna have to choose which mods I'll use and since I'm out of time let me be the first one to express my thoughts:

Calendar- I'm thinking of using NuCalendar since the popular Event Calendar is no longer supported and from what I hear has many bugs.

I'd like to use Content & Encyclopedia hacks so that a member can submit content and enc.terms.

I'm searching for a simple addon where you have the ability to attach a picture to your stories/news and/or reviews, has anyone tested Happy Picture or anything else?

As for polls, I 'd like a module that makes sure noone votes twice. not by checking his IP (since most of our IPs are dynamic) but by checking the username. Maybe I'll use Edogsopros, if anyone has anything better to recommend please do.

Are there any review tweaks that add review categories? MReviews does but it's buggy...

Site Update, Credits and Staff are essential for me, for the users to be informed about the site construction and continuous updates.

The tricky part is to choose among the stats packs, but it's not so important after all, cause it has nothing to do with the main functions of your site so I'm thinking of using either JAG Online or MSA, whaddaya think? And maybe change the User Info a little bit with CZ's User Info.

The two most important questions for me right now are probably:
1) Is WYSIWYG a big security risk enabling it to my site? What harm can it do? It could offer us so many editing features, especially for a review related site like mine.
2) I'd like to play with profile editing, so I'll use probably Approve Membership. Recommend it?

As soon as I try any of these I'll keep u updated.

At this moment, the only recommendations I can make are:
-Sommaire Parametrable, which is an excellent menu tweak, go for it! And IF a problem occurs, the author is more than happy to help you at his support forums.
-ANN block, that is Anime News Network newsfeed block for those of you that own a movies/anime/games site it would be great. If you use it as a side block and find some display problems like I did, I'll tell you how to fix it.

Yeah that newsletter is very customizable. The options that come with it are nice. Even has a few templates to choose from.
