Just got an email from an address [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] in the sender's spot in my inbox. DO NOT OPEN IT!!!!!! This was the result of the scan on the email attachment

I repeat, do NOT open it. As you know by seeing the great work that the codezwiz/codezhost staff does that they would NEVER send that to anybody. I am not trying to scare people or anything like that. Just hoping that maybe I can save somebody the computer that they are using. I would have felt very badly if I wouldnt have said anything and then somebody came on here yelling that their pc got fried or whatever.

Thanks for the headsup! I've noticed some strange things going on with our site... I hope somebody may have the answer for that may be related.

Codezhost is our server and I went through all of our SquirrelMail and 95 percent of the mail were nothing but viruses. Mostly every variant of the Netsky worm in circulation. The strange that's been going on is our disk space is filling up at a rate of 5 megs a day!!! We can't find anything extra on our server or our database and we get an average of 10 posts a day on our site..hardly 5 megs of info

When we check the properties of our server and DB files it shows our server files are 127 megs in size and our DB is 16 megs yet our diskspace shows 440 megs of usage and climbing quick!

You had an access_log that wasnt rotating. It was about 200 MB. I deleted it and reset the cron so you shouldn't have that problem again. The squirell mail is a web based email like a catch all. Kinda nice that it is cathcing those viruses for you.

Which thing do you use to check that? Cuz I also noticed that my total files seem to use over 400mb and not sure if thats possible..lol.

I am making my way through each domain checking the logs if there over size I will delete them. The logs rotation should have kicked back in last night and rotated them out.

OK..TY Telli. Another thing I noticed recently and even got a few today was emails stating that it wa a "failure delivery" from my redwolfsden.com addy...I dont send stuff from them and it appears that something is sending an attachment on a message.scr out to people... Not sure how to fix that if its only in my section of the site. If possible let me know how to get rid of that please.

Sounds like someone is spoofing your email address. We get those same emails all the time from all of our domains and our clients get them from their domains too. We just tell them to ignore them and for God's sake, don't open them!!

Not sure how they do it. For example, I just got one today. The email address that it was supposedly sent from is "admin@lighthousedesign.net". No such email address exists.
