I've recently installed a couple mods manually by hand (boy they sure are darned tedious!) and I've noticed that the mods are actually in a seemingly standard format. Which does seem to imply that modders all over probably have a tool where they just plug in the original and the modded files, and an app generates the mod.

If it is possible, surely it'd be possible to write something that'd do the reverse?

Or has it been done already?

.mod files are for phpbb standalone, not phpnuke, so there is no installer, although someone did try to make one last year, but it never really went too far, last i heard.
you might want to be careful, sounds like you are installing phpbb mods that may not work in phpnule without some porting.
besides, doing them by hand is the best way to learn.
