Hey Guys, Ive Been Working On This Scroll Block Now For Approximately 3 Weeks. I Am Using It As An "Allie" Block To Host Clan Logos And Making Them Linkable To Their Perspective Websites. If You Go To [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] It Is The Second Block From The Bottom On The Left Side. You See What It Shows Now Here Is The Code. Maybe Someone Can Help Me Figure Out Why Its Not Showing...

<table style="background: ("http://www.momurdaclan.com") ;position:absolute;top:0px;left:0px;width:200px;height:860px;border:0px"><tr><td valign="top"><marquee direction="up" scrollamount="5" height="250"><font style="font-family:Kristen;color:B22222;font-size:13px;text-align:center;"><center><b> </b><br><br><hr color="B22222" width="85%"><br><b><a href="http://www.qcclan.net" target="_blank" title="SOF2 Clan" alt="SOF2 Clan"><img src="http://www.momurdaclan.com/Temp/qclogo.jpg" border="0"></a></b><br><br><br><b>        </b><br><br><br><b></b><br><br><br><b></b><br><br><br><b></b><br><br><br><b><br></b><br><br><br><b> </b><br><br><br><b></b><br>  <br><br><b></b><br><br><br></font></marquee></td></tr></table>

BTW, I Have Uploaded The File To The Specific Directory That The img src Calls For And The File Name Is Correct.

Thanks,
Tr!k

The main problem lies in the style attribute you have applied to your <table> tag.

You have:
style="background: ("http://www.momurdaclan.com") ;position:absolute;top:0px;left:0px;width:200px;height:860px;border:0px"

You should have something like this:

style="background: url(http://www.momurdaclan.com) ;position:absolute;top:0px;left:0px;width:200px;height:860px;border:0px"

What I did was add "url" (without the quotes) in front of the first ( in the background property and remove the quotation marks around the URL inside the ( )'s.

Also, look at the URL that you're using for your background image. It's just a link to your website. It's not a link to an image. That's why the background isn't showing up.

You might want to look at the rest of the properties for that style. I'm not sure you need any of it. Do you really want the height of the table to be 860 pixels tall?

Now, once your HTML/CSS code is fixed, you need to go to the Main Menu here on CZ and click on Web Tools and then Nuke Tools. Click on Block Creator. Paste your HTML code into the first box and click Create. It will give you the code you need for your block.

You have quotation marks inside of quotation marks. You need to escape them with a backslash.

Try putting a \ in front of each of the " in your code that's between

$content = "

and

";.

Like this

<table border=\"0\">

Still Didnt Fix The Off-Setting Of The Site. Go To The Site. I Have Enabled The Block For All Visitors To See. All Of My Left Side Blocks Are Showing On The Right And The Right Side Blocks Are Gone. When I Disable The Scroll Block, Everything Goes Back To Normal. If You Have MSN, This May Be Easier. I Really Dont Want To Leave The Site Lookin Like This. My MSN Is [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

Thanks,
Tr!k

OK, I tried contacting you via YIM, I don't use MSN.

Let me back up a sec and ask you a question that I probably should have asked before. Are you just pasting the code into your Admin section? If so, you don't need to use the Block Creator. You can just make the changes I suggested earlier and paste that code in.

I saw the words upload file so I took that to mean a block-blockname.php file.

Thanks,
