I have been trying for 15 weeks to get my web site on the search engines what am I doing wrong.

I have gone through several free add it sites with know luck.

These free add it websites are not always reliable as they will only list your site for on a few weeks. Your best option is to possibly paying to advertising on a few sites. Codezwiz offers good prices for advertising on this site, have a look at the link below;

Google can take forever to index a new site. Inbound links from sites with high page ranks can help speed it up, but really it's just a waiting game.
Do some research on the 'Google dance' and you'll see that Google does a major update on a fairly regular basis.
You can also put some code on your site to check if Googlebot is visiting to index your site. Once it does, then you should be in the database after the next 'dance' or two.
