I am looking to remove the forums from a PHP-Nuke site. I don't just want to "deactivate" the forums, I mean UNINSTALL the forums.

Is it really as simple as deleting the forums and private messages modules and deleting the nuke_bb* database tables?

I will also have to change / delete the forums links in the theme of choice.

Am I missing something here?

There are also files in the includes folder.

Well, after a little trial and error it looks like a little more is involved. The Members_List module has to go too as it relies on the forums members list.

From the looks of things, PHP-Nuke is almost turning into a portal for phpBB instead of it's own CMS.

There is not really a simple way to do it because its based alot on phpBB files, user management, sessions, etc..

And Nuke has always been a portal for phpBB regardless of what FB states :p

A true CMS is not based on other open software such as phpBB, etc.. It has its own.

Well, I have removed the Forums, Private Messages, and Members List so far. I feel like I'm going back to the Nuke 5.X days. icon_smile.gif

I recoded the old Members List, (prior to the phpbb porting) and so far it is working like it is supposed to. {crossing fingers}

Now to the cookies and sessions. So far I haven't seen any cookies except what what the forums used, and they should be gone now. The sessions...well I am looking into that......
