Hi all,

I have seen this on a VB site somewhere.

Please could someone come up with a popup script so that when a user enters the site they get the popup containing the following info:

An area for my own text at the top. (only a few words - enough for say 50)
Site login boxes - i.e username box, password box with submit button.

Also at the bottom - register for an account link/details.

Would like the dimensions of the box roughly 400 x 400 pixels
and coloured if poss - though not essential

Thanks for any help offered.

Best regards

Jon

I would think that would be pretty annoying. Is it supposed to load everytime they refresh the page if there not a user? Or just once? Thats not an easy task to do. The login wouldn't be that diffucult to make just seems like it would become a real nuisance.

Hi again,

I thought about what you said reference it being annoying and you are probably right. So, looking through the Nuke How To I found this in section 18.2.1 about redirecting users who are not logged in or registered:

At the beginning of index.php after the line:

require_once("mainfile.php");

Add a piece of code so it looks like this:

require_once("mainfile.php");
global $user;
if(!is_user($user)) {
  header("Location: modules.php?name=Your_Account");
}

It will then redirect users who are not registered or logged in to the Your Account mdule.
This will do me I believe as I will just change the location address to my own custom login/register page.

Quite a useful snippet of code I think.

Regards

Jon

Sure but then everytime they hit the page they will get that. That would annoy me so bad I would leave your site and not bother registering. You need to make a check so it only does it once a day or something unless of course you don't offer anything for guests then just keep forcing them there.

But it only forces them there if they are not logged in. Most of the time a user stays logged in untill cookies are deleted.
If they are logged in it goes to the address you click/enter
