I'm not exactly sure what it is you're wanting to do. Are you wanting to change text colors or background colors of the table cells? Are you trying to change the look of the whole forums?

If you're familiar with HTML, you can view the source of the page and see which classes apply to the elements you want to change.

For example, if you wanted to change the menu section at the top (where it says Forum FAQ, Search, Usergroups, etc.), you'll see in your source code that the class you need to edit is .mainmenu. Find that class in your stylesheet and edit it.

Be sure to make a backup of your stylesheet before you start editing it in case you get lost or need to revert back to the original.

If your site uses a theme, you may need to modify the stylesheet that comes with the theme instead of forums.css. It's typically located inside the themes/THEMENAME/styles/ folder.
