News Article rating system help please!

I need major help, my site is getting bombarded by visitors that are rating articles as low as they can and they just keep coming the idiots!

What I’m trying to accomplish is away to hide the submit button from none registered users !

So I tried this ..

if (!is_user($user)) {
$ratecontent .= "<center><input type=\"submit\" value=\""._CASTMYVOTE."\"></center></form><br>";
}


But that didn’t work, so I searched your forums and seen you added this to the very top of the article.php page!

if (!is_user($user)) {
Header("Location: modules.php?name=Your_Account");
}


The problem with that it makes the article not viewable and users and columnist to our site want their bio to display at the bottom of the article!

So now I’m back to my original question?

Is there away to hide the CAST MY VOTE button on the articles!

All help would be appreciated as these people obviously don’t have a life and they keep rating all the articles low!

Sorry Kelly_Hero, it was late, I just wanted to insure that someone didnt wast their time helping me with it!

This is what i did for anyone else who wishes to have the Cast My Vote button hidden to none members and stop visitors from abusing the rating system in articles.

Open up modules/News/article.php

Find
$ratecontent .= "<center><input type=\"submit\" value=\""._CASTMYVOTE."\"></center></form><br>";


Change this line too this
if (is_user($user)) {
$ratecontent .= "<center><input type=\"submit\" value=\""._CASTMYVOTE."\"></center></form><br>";
} else {
$ratecontent .= "<center>Only <a href=\"modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=new_user\" ><b>Registered</b></a> members can rate, or you must <a href=\"modules.php?name=Your_Account\"><b>Login</b></a> to your account!</center>";
}


This way the button is hidden to none members and a default message will show to only un-registered members!

ehh....

how ironic; youre having problems with bombarding by votes (had actually), but my problem is that i havent any vote on my site lol icon_smile.gif not only votes link, but most important COMMENTS link. futher more, nuke is not calculating reads.

well.. im just started on nuke and i almost figured out everything but this is hard. since platinum doesnt have bb code news as preinstaled module, i found it somewhere, downloaded it and after resolving one problem with it (Cant acces file directly..) i have that another one. no comments, no votes, no stars no nothing. just a picture and some text lol icon_biggrin.gif im running on platinum 7.6.0. anyone knows download link for "fixed" bb code news module or how i can clear out that mess? icon_wink.gif

if someone can halp im here icon_biggrin.gif
