I just transferred my site. Everything is there and working, but members can not log in. I have changed settings in Preferences to reflect new domain. Also in Forum Admin have changed cookie settings. They are

Domain Name: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]
Cookie Domain: sureshotters.com
Cookie Name: phpbb2mysql
Cookie Path: /

I have deleted my cookies and cache, any suggestions or help?

Also, how can I get my site to show up by going to [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]
Right now you have to type [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

Check with your hosting, make sure there's only one index in your file system. As for members not joining, it's probably coding somewhere. Have you moved the database information? Check the config file, and check the database itself. Can you log in?

In the root directory of my site, there was only one index.html . I tried deleting it, still no luck, so I just replaced it for now. I will send them an e-mail asking though, to check if there is more than one index.

I don't think it is coding, I beleive it is in the settings, or in the database, or something I'm missing about clearing cookies/cache on my own machine. I am able to log in as admin fine. However members do no stay logged in.

So you tried to delete index.html and it wouldn't delete from the hosting? Do you mean you have index.html and index.php? For the next part...you're saying members can log in, but they can't stay logged in? It has to be a problem with the cookies then. Does your hosting service allow the use of cookies?

No, I was able to delete it. What I was saying, is when I deleted index.html my site still didn't show up. So I put the index file back for now.

My host does allow cookies.

I have now registered a test account and it is able to stay logged in and do everything fine. It is only members that existed before I transfered the site that can not log in. So I am thinking there is something in the database or a cookie setting somewhere. I have looked through the nuke_users table, I tried clearing the session value, didn't help.

Any ideas?

gotcha, gotcha. I'm thinking you need to have your existing members clear their cookies. Since they have a cookie for the old domain, it might be conflicting with the new domain. So try to have one or two people clearing their own cookies and seeing if they stay logged in. If not, it's a problem with the database or cookie coding.

My site now shows up in the root directory!

I contacted my host and it was a setting in my control panel. Had to enable Directory Indexes and add index.php to the list of accepted indexs.

I haven't had to do that before, all my other hosts had it already set.
