I'm just beginning with 3D, and I don't know what program is right for me. Does anyone know a guide that can help me compare between the different programs, or something else that could help me decide?

I don't know of any guides, but the ones I use regularly are 3D Max and Blender. I think it's more about which one you feel comfortable using than what it can do, as I've seen stunning results from all of them.

3D Max is the big cheese, tried and tested, well supported but hideously expensive.

Blender has an interface that is at first quirky, but once you get into it quite easy to use, and it's free.

My first preference is an easy to use interface. I'll look into those programs...thanks.

Blender is free until you use it commercially, then it's get's more expensive than all of the other 3d applications combined icon_mrgreen.gif It is a neat program though. Other options are Lightwave and Maya. I'm a Max user. icon_smile.gif
