Okay, im going to start by saying that the extent of my PHP/SQL knowledge reaches about as far as setting up PHPbb. not very much.

this is what I've done so far:
1) unzipped the PHP-Nuke (7.Cool files to a directory on my hard drive.
2) Connected to my web host (1and1.com) via [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]
3) uploaded the files to my server.
4) set up a database on 1and1.com for Nuke
5) edited /html/config.php to include the proper database info.
6) used /sql/nuke.sql to configure my database with the proper tables and defaults
7) went to [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]
got an error that shows a logo image that is hosted by my server (which was broken) and a message that says my SQL is not working.

so...i figured i messed something up in the couple hours it took me dinking around to figure out the steps...soooo I did this:
1) deleted the database, and all of its contents
2) deleted the entire contents of my server
3) reloaded the entire contents
4) recreated the database
5) edited config.php again
6) reconfigured the database with nuke.sql again
7) went to [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]
and THIS time, i get nothing. nada. blank. the page acts as if it is loading, the status bar shows "done, but with errors on page." and the page is full of white nothing.

needless to say: either I am retarted, 1and1's SQL is retarted, or both.

Actually it would be best to download Nuke 7.6 from [ Register or login to view links on this board.] because I'm not real sure how up to date the Nuke patched versions are here in the CZ downloads. I recommend Nuke 7.6 Patched because the newer Nuke versions are troublesome sometimes.
