Hello, ive used this forum many times and always seem to get the help i need, now a bigger a problem, I have a web site for a online gaming communtiy, I use yahoo web hosting and have access to SSL secure severs,perl editor, PHP editor, PHP functions,php perl mail, and mySQL database, and maybe more that could help me, what i need to do is set my site up to have visitors sign up for my site, be able to log into my site then be directed to a member only type page? like a password gate but hopefully better, like you were to sign into admin101, or other sites, basically i need my visitors to be a part of my site, how do i do this,I really need this to work so i can allow differnt team mebers to go to differnet places, so could someone please help me with this, i have no clue where or how to start but i am very good at following directions so please help me, any help would be great!!!I have yahoo IM "foosinsof" if you would like to contact me to help, thanks all!!!

Are you running a phpnuke site? What it sounds like is you want a site built out of php from scratch. Have you looked at any php script sites for a pre built solution? If your not using phpnuke that would do what your looking for.

hmm, im not using php nuke, i could, what is easiest for me??? im totally lost, what the easiest way for me to go about it???

I would say if you dont know much about php or can't find a solution to fit your needs, and dont wanna pay for a script or for somebody to build you a site phpnuke would be the way to go. I don't know what your host offers but phpnuke requires a database like mysql. If you do decide to go with phpnuke and need any help with the install or with the site you have the #1 help resource right here at this site.

I read your post again and im alittle tired i see you have access to mysql. Are you looking to make a pay site where members have to pay for access or do you want them to register for membership?

well i just need them to register to mysite, no paying for it, just sign up for it, i want them to be able to clcik join, repister with things like password, name, location things like that, then once they are registered they can sign in and once they sign in be directed to a certain page with their sign in name, so to register for the service, kinda like a password gate but id like to able to have their name and pass and email and thing like that in a databass, "i think thats what a databass does" but im getting some where, thanks for help, sure appreitate it, also i can build 10 databasses thur my host, also i have a MySQL, i seen you mention that, i have it but no idea what it is??

Phpnuke will do exactly what you want. You can see by this site it runs phpnuke.

ok, could you help me get started, is it a dowload, or what not sure at all, sorry dont mean to sound completly lost but, thats where im at, ok so if i get that how do i use it in my site through my host or???, im lost so ill start at the beginning, where should i start, ty for the help!!!
