ok, im pretty green to phpnuke, so bare with me, i installed phpnuke on to my site. went to the page to check it out, and got the standard message about creating a superuser right away, no prob. i put in my username and pw, it lets me in to the admin area, but as soon as i click on a cp..i.e., messages , or blocks, it kicks me right back to the admin log in, and it just does this over and over. I scoured 3 or 4 differnet sites for the answer to this. I found the same question, but no one ever replied. Please help........im on my knees begging......lol thanks in advance.

It's a common problem called "admin loop". Clean your cookies and reboot that should solve the problem

I myself have asked that same question and I hve been told no. Although I intend to buy a new computer and install lunix on it, they told me that it's not necessary though I have been told that it is best to use a mozilla browser to avoid Kiddie hacks from using my cookies session timeout (I think that was what it was called!) to access my site as admin. I Can try to find the page I downloaded If you are interested in the specifics of that subject. I know I'm not taut, but I thought I might b of some help (only 3 months into nuke and working on my 2nd site...)

Good luck

Sabastina

thank you Sabastina, any help on the subject would be great. I think my biggest problem is i have no coding experience at all, if i had some knowledge this stuff might come a little easier. PHP being open source, im sure there is a plethera of documentation though.

Red dog,

Not a problem.
There is a lot of info out there problem is not knowing html from java (unless it says "javascript" ) it is hard to know what the heck the documentation actually means!

Then when you are terrified because you have done (or are preparing to do) something damaging to your site the excitement causes things to become even more difficult. Heck, there are so many times I forgot to read something through due to excitement.

I am happy to help you with anything I am able to help with. Just let me know! I caom here more often than my own site so you can contact me here, or I can keep an eye out for your posts.

I've been searching my computer for that page, but I can't remember what the name is and so it's going long and hard to find it, i will though!

Sabastina
