I received the following error with my sql.

Error
SQL-query : [Edit]

CREATE TABLE nuke_bbrules (
date int(11) NOT NULL default \'0\',
rules text NOT NULL,
pm_subject varchar(255) NOT NULL default \'\',
pm_message text
) ;

MySQL said:


You have an error in your SQL syntax near '\'0\',
rules text NOT NULL,
pm_subject varchar(255) NOT NULL default \'\',' at line 2

Ok question 1. What does syntax mean?

2. Why is the code that shows when "SQL says" different than what was in the one I queried?

There shouldnt be any \ in the sql file so remove those then try it again.

Syntax error can be many thisgs in this case it is an error in your coding.
