Hello, I want to change the font colors of certain words in my messages. When I use html tags, it changes while editing, but when I save and go to home page it goes back to default color. I put "font" in my array under allowable tags but it does not care. Thanks for any help in advance. icon_biggrin.gif

Welcome to CZ phpnoob38, Have you tried using the bbcode? [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] You can see all the features of BBCode if you click the "BBCode is ON" link while in the posting box when posting. Just look for this in the bottom left corner under the smilies:

Options
HTML is ON
BBCode is ON
Smilies are ON

There's also BBCode Box which has a lot of nice features for message posting: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

hey thanks for the reply. I think we are on the wromg page. I mean I am trying to change the color of words when I am adding a message for my home page through the admin panel. I tried the bbcode as well and it did not work. I had this same problem trying to use larger fonts for certain words. I found out you have to use the "<h>" tag. Thanks for the help.

I was definitely off the page! icon_mrgreen.gif That's what I get for trying to answer before my first cup of mud. What version of nuke are you running? Have you tried this format using hexadecimal color codes?

I'm not sure if it's the WYSIWYG text editor that comes in 7.7-7.8 causing the problem or not. Look in your config.php file and see if you have it turned off for admin posting. Look for this:
# $advanced_editor: On/Off the advanced WYSIWYG text editor for admins
#                   0: Off, will use the default simple text editor
#                   1: On, will use the full featured text editor
# $display_errors:  Debug control to see PHP generated errors.
#                   false: Don't show errors
#                   true: See all errors ( No notices )
######################################################################

$dbhost = "localhost";
$dbuname = "root";
$dbpass = "";
$dbname = "nuke";
$prefix = "nuke";
$user_prefix = "nuke";
$dbtype = "MySQL";
$sitekey = "S·kQSd5%W@Y62-dm29-.-39.3a8sUf+W9";
$gfx_chk = 0;
$subscription_url = "";
$admin_file = "admin";
$tipath = "images/topics/";
$advanced_editor = 0;
$display_errors = false;

Make sure this is set to 0:
$advanced_editor = 0;

Other than that I'm not sure what else it could be...7.7 & 7.8 is known to have problems and full of security holes, some running it choose to remove the editor completely or go back to 7.6. There is also an WYSIWYG Editor patch you can get over at: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] which allows you to decide what modules have the WYSIWYG editor in their text areas.
