I am sorry if this was brought up already, I searched the forums but was unable to find any post on the subject.

I recently setup phpnuke 7.6 on my site, everything seemed to install properly, but when people register on the site the user activation email that is has an invalid link, which leads the user to a 404 error page. I tested this out myself to see if maybe it was the person connection, but when I tried it I noticed what the issue was the link that is sent does not have the proper path for the modules.php file.

My question is was this caused by something done during the install of the phpnuke setup, or is there a file in the phpnuke which I can go and edit so that it will have the correct path in the email that is auto-generated.

the link to my site is [ Register or login to view links on this board.]

Thank you in advanced.

Try this out, this information is from a post from Chatserv:

In modules/Your_Account/index.php under function finishNewUser you should have a line similar to:
$finishlink = "$nukeurl/modules.php?name=$module_name&op=activate&username=$username&check_num=$check_num";

and $nukeurl should be in the function's global line, if that checks ok then your site url in admin preferences might be empty.

Thank you very much for the help and unfortunately the issue was caused by the fact that the site url in the preferences was incorrect I didnt think about the fact that it would change the fact that the nuke was in a subdirectory since the site url I figured the site url was just the main page. Well I can chalk that one up to not paying enough attention to detail.

Again thanks for the help and sorry to take your time.

yeah thats what made me realize what caused the issue, I was going to check the file with the code you told me about but I figured before I did that I would check the preference you mentioned, which turned out to be correct. Again sorry for taking your time, but thank you for the help
