Hey all, just wondered if anyone knows about the current situation with Destine Designs.
We purchased a theme from them back in feb or so, and the themes they sell go thru a liscence check, well aparently that server crashed and now the site using that theme times out. Now typically u could chalk this up as just something that happens here and there, and give them a chance to explain the situation and fix it. But apparetly instead of giving their cust some info on the situation they closed their forums instead. This is the worste cust service i have ever come across. (even worse then SPRINT) So if anyone has any news on the current situation please let me know. I know that there are alot of cust. that payed alot of money for their themes and now they cant even access their site, without going and fixing it by changing themes.

Requiring a paid license for a theme? Isn't that against the GPL?

Anything that requires PHP-Nuke (GPL code) in any part is swallowed up by the GPL. They can charge for access to their download, but enforcing that you must pay to use or see the source violates GPL

They're a joke and you should file complaint with the internet fraud division. Anyone want to help remove the autorization server link from my theme.php?

I cracked the authorization server bs, anyone who needs me to fix their theme, pm me.

I dunno about all that, i see where u r going with it, but it takes time to create and design a theme, and i do not mind paying for that time. But the lack of support, and the fact that it has been down a week and instead of responding to customers complaints (valid complaints) and shutting down access to the forums to avoid everyone complaining is about the lowest way to go. DD lost all respect here!

You should get what you pay for, i had bought a theme from xtrato.com and had installed and looked into a few of there templates and there was encoded code in there i never got a email back from them and no support thru their forums no support at all. I agree with the sprint customer service the worst ever. You paid for this theme and it doesn't work?

Update to my story looks alot like your story xtrato closed there forum and looks like they opened a new forum they deleted my user account i sent multiple emails and even posted on their forums never any answer looks like i wasted my money anybody wanting to buy a theme from xtrato i wouldn't recommend it. Sorry to jump off your topic but this happened to me with someone else maybe they are the same owners.

Yes i bought the Z3 theme, customized it...used it for a few months, till their servers fail...now if i put that theme back up then it times out after 50 secs or so and says destinedesigns/lisence cannot be found, which makes my site look bad, and unaccesable. As i said it looked good, and i was happy.in fact after the first day of it beeing down DDs forums had probably 50 nasty complaints and i posted that things happen, give them and chance to correct it, swearing and stomping your feet will not get the job done any faster, so i guess i defended them for nothing, what a shame! Im just glad that i know how to get that broken theme off, as some do not! Just think if their were 50 customers that had the same problem, and DD sells their themes for about 110 dollars (us) thats a whole lot of money they made, now they can shut their doors and reopen as some other design company and do it all over again. I hope that people pass the word, i would hate for this to happen again.

well i may be in the wrong when saying this but you paid for the theme and as long as you have proof you should remove the problem make the theme that you paid for work again. Do you know how to get the theme working Tendency sounds like he has a solution
