Hi everyone, I would like to ask a question about when a user registers on my site. Where does the username and email get stored? What happened is this, someone registered and did not respond to the email about clicking the link to activate their account. Now when they try to create another account it says that the email is in use. If I could know where this info is stored, I would delete it so he can start over. Thanks for any advise..

Go into your phpMyAdmin then navigate to your Nuke database, scroll down to the nuke_users_temp table, click on the edit icon, and delete the users details there.

Thanks for such a fast reply BigJim. I am now looking in the data base at the nuke_users_temp, but I dont see any icon that says edit. There is that pencil looking icon that says "change" But when I hilite something on that page and use the change icon it brings me to a page that has options such as, Field, Type, Length/Values, Attributes, and so on. I'm not sure if that is the page I should be at, and I am sure that I dont know what to do there if it is. Thanks again for the help..

Sorry...my bad (it's been one of those days). Try this: Go into your phpMyAdmin then navigate to your Nuke database, scroll down to the nuke_users_temp table, click on the browse icon, then you should see their name and the pencil icon and an X or something sinilar for deleting...click that, the delete icon (next to the name you want deleted).

Thanks again for such a fast reply BigJim. We are getting closer. icon_biggrin.gif When I do what you said to do in the last reply, It shows me the last registrants pending account only. I appreciate your help and i'll keep looking around. As a reminder, so you or anyone else wont have to read this thread over. What I am trying to do is remove emails and names of people that registered and then did not reply to the email link for registration completion within the 24 hours. The reason for that is, they can not reregister using the same email or name. Thank again.....

Your user nane should be in the nuke_authors and nuke_users tables...not in the temp, unless your just testing without activating the account.

What version of Nuke is this? is it patched with the latest security patch from chatserv? you can find the latest patch for you Nuke version here on the index page: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

I just tested this by registering a fake name on my Nuke 7.6 test site, and it works flawlessly...That tables existence is for this sole reason...to hold new users until activated. Have you tried checking the tick box next to that table and running a check and repair on it with the drop down box? or check and repair the complete database?

Hi BigJim, I am using either 7.8 or 7.9. I dont remember and I dont know how to check. I just started using it about 3 weeks ago. I didnt install any patches either. The email and name issue was an error on my part. I made a fake account today with the same name and email that I could not make it with the other day. So I'm thinking that it says you have 24 hours to reply and if you reapply within that 24 hour period it gives you that message (email is already in use) but if you dont reply within the 24 hours it removes the email address.
The reason I am saying that is there were no pending accounts and I can now make a fake account using the same email. Thanks for your efforts in helping me with this problem. It is much appreciated icon_razz.gif
