Hey telli, thanks for all the work your doing for me. i really apreciate it. Here is the thing. I installed that index and the tut file as per your instructions. in my modules folder, i made a folder called modding_tutorials, then in that i made a folder called tutorials and in that i droped the tut.txt and the defualt txt. of course in modding_tutorials i put the index.php. so. modules/modding_tutorials/tutorials
So when i click on the modding tutorials button in the navigation, it brings up our main game site...www.asp-gamers.com my domain is...well about to be taken down to be reinstalled. so it's down right now, but i looked in the index to see where the link is and i don't see it. so how can i change it so that it will do what it's suppose to do?

OK your doing it wrong. The folder I attached is the module. Just upload it to your modules folder. Then upload all your tutorials (in txt format) to the tutorials folder inside the Modding_Tutorials module. Thats it!

Ok try this one... Just upload into your modules file and add your tutorials (in .txt format) to the modules/Modding_Tutorials/tutorials/ folder.:

WOW.. that worked awsome telli. I can't thank you enough. I noticed that i don't have to form the pages either. as in adding <br> signs. i just dropped the txt in there and it came out perfect.
Thanks alot...I am going to study that script and see if i can make any kind of sense from it. What language is this written in...Is it called php or something else. i see that some of it seems to resemble c. am i correct in that.
Again. thanks for that module..i love it!..it's already on my site, now i have to figure out how i am going to make much more use of it. I am using a module called tutoriaox right now, it's on the home page. it works much the same way, only it doesn't let me drop in files like that. thanks again. it's much appreciated. do you have a site that i could add a link to, to do some advertising for you?

One more request if i may. How hard would it be to change it from using a drop down menu to just allowing me to modify the default to have a link in it instead. would that be possible. what i need to beable to do is organize the tuts by catagories. so this way i would beable to insert tags to create the custom menu. then just drop the .txt into the folder and be done. Or would that take a total rewrite? I can use it this way. I will just give the module the listing of text tutorials only. The other reason i am asking, is that with a menu i can customise, i would beable to use the module for other things as well.

i want it both ways. I love the first one that is online and working right now. i am trying to decide how i am going to use it. So it's not open to the public right now, i am filling it with content. but i would like to beable to manaully configure the page, yes. so lets say that one tutorial is a mapping tutorial. I would like to add a category on mapping. then the second tut might be modding. I would like to add the category of modding. I would also like to understand why it says "sorry, such file doesn't exist." Why can't you just add a link that says to go into the modules folder and pull out the file and display it. just like a link that opens a webpage. I found that if i make a folder called modding tuts then place the index.php in there and program that index.php with one link that is linked to a folder called tuts, and place an index.php in there with the tut written into that index, that the file will display when you click on it. so why can't i just have that link programmed to other files that are in the same folder. I don't understand why it doesn't work that way.
