Hi icon_smile.gif
I'm using PHP NUKE 7.1 with the phpBB forums updated to 206.
problem is I cannot set single users as moderators for the forums boards. I enter the forum admin page, go through the setting permissions process and there is no error report. However the boards on the forum keep showing as having no moderator.

The thought has actually crossed my mind to make everyone a super user and be done with it... I really am fed up.

could you please help?

Welcome to Codezwiz.....

have you set up your forums first into diff cateroies, etc. then go to admin panel for your forums.

in there, go to management/type in user name. scroll to the bottom and you'll see...set this user as Moderator, Admin, etc. you'll have to set a special rank if you need to.

then you go to permissions, enter the user name, then you tell it which forum this person is a mod in

see if that works for you

Hey taut,
thanks for the welcome icon_smile.gif

actually nothing works.

I tried by setting them up with special ranks, putting them in the default moderator group first and then assigning their permissions from there, changing their status from user to board administrator, giving them forum moderator status from the php nuke admin panel, nothing works.

And setting the permissions through the user management does not work now, the admin is told to use the user permissions and group permission options (which I have already tried).

status report: attempt to cross toes failed! lol

seriously though, I tried resetting the users as non-administrators but still doesn't work. It just comes up with a bug mode warning for the auth_access table in the database. For what it's worth I took a look at the bbtonuke site in Nuke cops and it seems that many ppl who who use 2.0.4, 2.05, and 2.06 have had the same problem and though many combinations of user status, group membership and rank were suggested no one has managed to solve it yet, as far as I could see.

You can set groups as moderators but not individuals.

In any case I thought I'd just let you know the temporary solution I came up with. If I want to set one person only as moderator for a specific board I just create a closed group called after the person, make this person group moderator (and of course single member of the group), then assign moderator status for this group to the boards I want the person to moderate. A bit lame I know but at least it works till I have the time to sit down and work it out. Someone suggested taking a look earlier ported to nuke phpbb databse structure and comparing it with earlier veriosn but I went all the way back to phpnuke version 6.0 databases and no diffrences there.

Seems to work fine with with version 5.x though and I had no problems with version 6.5.

Thanks for all the help icon_smile.gif

Your cooie settings could be too high to set as a group moderator, i had problems setting up admins becuase of my cookie settings, delete your cookies and temp int files, put your cookie settings a bit lower and then retry icon_smile.gif hope that works

I had this problem in nuke 7, so maybe it still isnt fixed in 7.1... it was a bug. I would find the nuke 7 patch (many out there), and just try overwriting the forum part of it. Back up your files, of course. Another problem I had was that my admin wasnt given admin status, so for that I had to modify the user_level through phpmyadmin from 3 to 2. Worked fine then.
