I am guessing all of my questions have been answered elsewhere, but I am not able to find them, so here goes...

I installed phpnuhke 7.0 to my site on a /test folder so that I could keep my normal website up while I learned more about phpnuke. My question is this: I set up a, two actually, super users with full admin rights. Problem is, when I log into my site as either admin, the Administration block does not show up on the main page. I can get to the Admin module through a link that was on the initial News post (congratulations you have a phpnuke portal...) I show that the Administration block is active, in 1 spot on the left. The only thing I notice is all blocks that are System type do not show on any page.

Next issue: Pictures! Presently I use Dreamweaver to create a photo album and add that to my site. How can I do the same with phpnuke 7.0?

In case anyone needs to see what I have done: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] for the html site I made and... [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] to see what I am working on in phpnuke at the moment. That should show just how new I am to this!

Thanks in advance for any help.

First off, welcome to Codezwiz.

to try and answer your first question, clean you cache and re-login. the admin login and admin system info should show up on the main page where you activated or placed the block either left or right.

as for the second question, most Nukers use Coppermine for their image galleries although I am sure there are others out there you could use. I have not come across any others yet but if I do, I will be sure to post it for you. Have you tried to do a search?

Here is a site you might want to look at and see if there is one there:

Thanks for the replies.

I cleaned cookies and temporary internet files then went to the main page. Logged in there and get forwarded to My_Account.
From there I click Home expecting to see the Administration Block but it isn't there. Right now there are only two users on this site: The original that has the site name and one that I made up, both are Super user accounts. I tried logging in with each and get the same result. It has to recognize the users as Admins because I can access the admin page, log in again with same username, and make changes. Just the Administration Block never shows up.

I was looking forward to the interactivity of phpnuke, but it, imo, is not very user-friendly at all. I'll keep trying though.

this may be a long shot but check your IE tools and make sure it accepts cookies because when I go to my main page, I see both admin blocks with no problem.

That didn't work either. The only thing I notice is any block that is of the System type will not show up. I have the Users block also activated and it won't show either.

Got it fixed!

Had my local phpNuke expert log in and take a look. He couldn't find anything wrong, but on a hunch he copied the contents of the Administration Block and pasted those in a new block...just recreated it. Well that did the trick.

We are suspecting a corrupted nuke install script.
