icon_rolleyes.gif So, have I peaked your interest? Here it goes; I have two rolling scrollbars on the main page. What I have been looking for is a javascript that will take my first one (the Admin list) and be able to utilize the images and text at the same time so that they will show up, fade out and the next one comes up. eusa_think.gif

Kind of like the way it all appears now except it will not be rolling (scrolling?) through the list. icon_question.gif icon_exclaim.gif

So far, I have been unsucessful in my search for such. I just don't like the fact that the admin list and the announcements list both scroll. PS - Kelly I noticed your announcement scrollbar that stops for a few in the center - very cool. Details, it's all in the details!! icon_exclaim.gif !!

Here is the site [ Register or login to view links on this board.] and I do sincerely appreciate anyone taking the time to check it out. icon_biggrin.gif

You can find all kinds of scrollers at [ Register or login to view links on this board.] .

The one I use is called Mike's DHTML scroller.

icon_biggrin.gif Thanks Kelly - I might get extra adventurous and try to combine two scripts to achieve the effect I am looking for....although that may be to much brain excercise.

At the very least, I will use the image fading script and then just put text on the image (representing the admin's dollz name).

Thanks! icon_exclaim.gif

PS - I noticed that you had created your own background wallpaper - very nice! You go girl!

icon_wink.gif Okay, get out that magnifying glass!

Here is a "Flexi Slideshow" script that will give me the path to the image, a link if I want and most importantly a text description.

<tpircs language="Javatpircs1.2">

/***********************************************
* Flexi Slideshow- © Dynamic Drive (www.dynamicdrive.com)
* This notice must stay intact for use
* Visit http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ for full source code

var variableslide=new Array()

//variableslide[x]=["path to image", "OPTIONAL link for image", "OPTIONAL text detpircsion (supports HTML tags)"]

variableslide[0]=['ball.gif', '', '']
variableslide[1]=['spaceship.gif', 'http://www.space.com', 'Has aliens landed on earth? You decide.']
variableslide[2]=['cake.gif', '', '']

//configure the below 3 variables to set the dimension/background color of the slideshow

var slidewidth='130px' //set to width of LARGEST image in your slideshow
var slideheight='120px' //set to height of LARGEST iamge in your slideshow, plus any text detpircsion
var slidebgcolor='#F3F3F3'

//configure the below variable to determine the delay between image rotations (in miliseconds)
var slidedelay=3000

////Do not edit pass this line////////////////

var ie=document.all
var dom=document.getElementById

for (i=0;i<variableslide.length;i++){
var cacheimage=new Image()
cacheimage.src=variableslide[i][0]
}

var currentslide=0

function rotateimages(){
contentcontainer='<center>'
if (variableslide[currentslide][1]!="")
contentcontainer+='<a href="'+variableslide[currentslide][1]+'">'
contentcontainer+='<img src="'+variableslide[currentslide][0]+'" border="0" vspace="3">'
if (variableslide[currentslide][1]!="")
contentcontainer+='</a>'
contentcontainer+='</center>'
if (variableslide[currentslide][2]!="")
contentcontainer+=variableslide[currentslide][2]

if (document.layers){
crossrotateobj.document.write(contentcontainer)
crossrotateobj.document.close()
}
else if (ie||dom)
crossrotateobj.innerHTML=contentcontainer
if (currentslide==variableslide.length-1) currentslide=0
else currentslide++
setTimeout("rotateimages()",slidedelay)
}

if (ie||dom)
document.write('<div id="slidedom" style="width:'+slidewidth+';height:'+slideheight+'; background-color:'+slidebgcolor+'"></div>')

function start_slider(){

Here is a "Fade In Slideshow" script that will fade in the images that I wish to display - the only drawback to this is the images need to be the same size and there is no ability to display text.

//SET IMAGE PATHS. Extend or contract array as needed

var preloadedimages=new Array()
for (p=0;p<fadeimages.length;p++){

So I would like to be able to use the best of both worlds - Have the images fade in and out with the text and the option of using different size graphic images. icon_rolleyes.gif I know, Oh brother! I hope that the code is there because when I preview, I can't see it?!

LOL - got the bugger to show up - now, where is that magnifying glass...... icon_rolleyes.gif

icon_evil.gif Well, pooh. I don't know why the script isn't there but I can attach as a text file if anyone wishes.

I procured both scripts from Dynamic Drive. icon_rolleyes.gif

Not sure exactly what u r looking for Tuffy, but will try and help you succeed in finding that code. Question: Do you want something that fades the mini YIM status and the admins name in and out or something that Fades a picture, plus the above listed info?

Steve
