You know the avatar template that a few of you staff have?

Im just wondering how its made, is it a beveled cirlce with a less flare and then a few nice filters on the middle bit? Or just a custimisable centre, put any pic you want on it?

rather than a lens flare looks like an airbrush, or dodge tool, cant remember the name, the bevel also looks like its outlined ny another circle, the pic works in a way where its placed on the layer with the glass, the black is already voer that so the pic is automiatcally below it ....... this is just how i think its done from past experiences i ahvnt ever attempted to do that so i could be completly off lol icon_rolleyes.gif

OK, here's a quick run down on how it's done.

The Tronix avs are comprised of several layers. First, I created a vector circle and filled it with black. Then I added a vector mask to the layer and masked out a smaller circle inside the first one, leaving me with a hollow ring. I gave the layer a smooth bevel and a black color overlay. Next, I copied a circle from the inset of the Tronix theme and pasted it as a layer on top of the first layer. I added a few details with a brush and then I added an inner shadow and inner glow to that layer. Then I added another layer which includes the image in the middle. On top of that I added a layer and airbrushed in some soft highlights. Last, I added the text layers.

Easy peasy!

Kelly
