hi, i am totally new to php and mysql.

is it possible to pick a random selection from mysql database and display it on a page of my site.

basically i am running a competition and want to pick a winner ever week. i want it to be random choice. also if that person has been chosen they can not be chosen again within that month.

on the page i want something like this:- the winner is and username.

baring in mind there are a couple of hundred users.

if its possible can you let me know, it would be most appreciated. also if some one submits some code that will work will you explain as i am really wanting to learn php.
