I had used the power tools to install the photo gallery, but couldn't log in. I uninstalled it, and thought things went well, but even though the power tool menu says it's uninstalled, it's still there in the siles menu! I tried to force delete them in the myadmin with no luck, and permission is denied in the [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

I have reinstalled another and can't log into this one either. I found no help in the FAQ nor the forums on the gallery website and was wondering if anyone knows what I need to do to log in?

while in your admin files...open the permission files for the setup directory...chmod it to 777. after doing that, you can then force delete that directory fist (setup directory) once that is done then you cna force delete the main gallery2 directory.

when you first login to your gallery the initial login name is admin and use the pwd you supplied when you first installed it. after that, you can then use the login name you supplied on your next login attempt.

I chmod to 777 went in to the admin to force it and failed.

Also, I tried to log in as you said, but it did not allow me to log in. Said that the password or username was invalid...both were correct.

the steps I outlined in my previous post was done after I saw your post..I installed Gallery2...tried to login and worked just fine..and then I tried to uninstall which also worked just fine.

what version Gallery is that? and are you hosting with Codezhost?

I am having the same problem with the login and I am hosted with codezhost. Admin and my supplied password do not work tool admin name and pass do not work. I have no idea what the problem is. I have installed gallery before on another host no problems. Something is missing here.

I've been trying to get it to work for a couple weeks. I just manually installed it and it works fine. Takes a whole lot longer without the powertools though. Let me know if you find the problem I still have a slight issue with self registration.

I did the email test and I got the email so I know it should work, but when I try to self register as a new user it doesn't do anything I have the the new user info in front of me, and it stays there even after submitting. Just wondering if you know of some little bug that has an easy fix for it?

Oh and I'm using rc3 fresh release lol as of the 25th. So I expect bugs..

The only answer that I've found in this issue is that when the programmers were asked about this log in problem with this particular version, they suggested to use the current version to avoid the problem. I'm thinking that there must be a bug in the version that we are using.

I for one understand that issues like this can happen and I know that Tellie and Staff provide top notch service here for free, and have been of the utmost help on my getting into my new codezhost space! Nothing to forgive guys!!! I'm totally staying with CZ!

I just tried to upload it again through Power Tools and logged in just fine...

I've got full confidence in you guys, and the service rocks! It's nice that when there is a problem you do something about it.. You are not my first host, but by far the best. I can find hosting cheaper, but there is no support.

Question for ya Taut when you set up that account was the tool administrator's username admin? Mine is not. The default for gallery itself is admin. If Gallery's tool admin is admin also then i would suspect it might work. Did you try it with a differant tool admin name? I don't have a user by the name of admin on my account, more security.
Just a thought..
