do you mean PHPNuke or PHP?

You don't need a domain name + themes to learn PHP or PHPNuke. Just setup a server (apache - recomended) on your machine and install PHP. Then you can learn it.

Some helpful links:

Apache - [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

PHP - [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

Mysql - [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

For PHPNuke - [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] , this site and a lot others.

Downloads for nuke including themes:

The best source I've found overall is honestly codezwiz...Tis one reason I've stuck around. They are clean, easy to read, use,and understand. Staff is more than happy to provide very fast support for them...and the features are very cool...AND most importantly to me, the compatability marked on the downnloads here is accurate!

but other sources I use include:
[ Register or login to view links on this board. ] (really nice stuff site VERY slow to load)

Geeze, I visit tons every week...I'll try to remember to gather links...Umm If the staff wants, i can add them to the weblinks here? just don't want to add links without knowing the policy...

Hope these help out.

Sabastina

By the way...codezwiz has freehosting as well as links to freehosting, and practicing using the system is the most effective way unless you are very patient and can seriously comprehend coding and stuff AND remember all of it until you do set up a nuke! I just got space and messed up for 6 months. now my new site looks halfway decent. good luck! ~Sab

I thought i might add something else.

I had quite a few problems setting up the PHP, Apache and MySQL setup, so i looked around a bit, and found a place where have a program which has all these bundled, and phpmyadmin into one single program. Its worked great so far, its called EasyPHP and you can get it at [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

Oh and dont be put off by the the installer being Partly French, the program is entirely configurable language wise, and there is a seperate language file to download in the downloads section to patch up other bits of English or whichever lanaguage you want that arent translated.

Note: This contains previous versions of the software, it doesnt contain PHP 5 or Apache 2.
