I'm looking for a new webhost for my nuke site and would like some word-of-mouth advertising. Who is your webhost and what do you like/not like about them? I'm looking for a reputable host, not any resellers, so if you have the time to share what you know I'd appreciate it!

I've been researching the larger web hosts, but it seems like they all use unix, but I would prefer linux if possible. In the end...as long as I get good page loads and the site doesn't go down I'm happy. (Got to have a box with ImageMagick installed too so I can run my photo gallery)

I use ehostpros.com they are cheap, reliable, and have been using them for about a year now

good features: lot of space, bandwidth, cheap, reliable
bad features: the worst customer service i've ever come across. they have never replied to even one of my emails. i don't live in the US so i can't call.

That's funny you say bluehost...they are one of the ones im looking at right now. Currently I'm with Globat.com and my page loads drive. i've only been with them for a few days and will be cancelling by the end of the week. I called Bluehost's tech support and they answered pretty quickly...but I'm in the USA, so it doesn't cost me on my cell.

What OS does your bluehost use? Do you know if they have Image Magick installed on their boxes?

they haven't sent me a receipt for my purchase. i bought 2 year hosting from them. i keep asking they never send though.

I've got a free host. But don't let that put you off. It's very good stuff, 500 megs space, 20 gigs Transer. 20 Pop Emails, 20 MySQL databases. Autoinstaller containing lots of CMSes and other stuff. It's free yes, but the catch is you have to be an active member of the community. I got my hosting 2 days ago, it's worked fine and the community there is friendly ( most of the time ) and helpful. Sounds a lot like CZ eh

In my opinion you cant beat CodezHost offered by Telli. If you have problems you already know where the support forums are because your in them. They are very reliable and I would NEVER say "cheap", a better term is inexpensive. "Cheap" is something that seems to break right away. If you want to check it out and cant wait to get back to this main page to click on his banner link, here is the link [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] By watching Telli in the forums you already know you are getting hosting from somebody who cares about people by the helpfullness nature he portrays here. And you can use your gallery with codezhost also since imagemagik is already in there.

Codezhost is pretty cool...starting to wonder how I never wandered over there with all the time I spend on this site. I run a small site for my family and want to get NukedGallery running which requires Image Magick software be installed on the server. Do you know if this or GD comes installed?

I use Top Hosting Solutions - They're awful.

My site goes down weekly. I don't receive responses to my emails. They have a toll free number that is unattended. Slow page loads, limited storage...DO NOT USE THEM...I'm tied in until my contract is up cuz I'm a tight wad...only 7 more months. They claim 99.9% uptime...it's more like 90% and to pay me back for my inconvenience they offer a free month or two of service. Quite enticing...a free month of 90% uptime!!!
