I'm looking for a block, similar to the ForumScroll from this site, which will pull headlines from selected RSS feeds. I have several RSS feeds as blocks now and they take up too much room, so this would be ideal.

The only think I saw similar to this was a dead link from another site. I have checked block downloads on Nuken, NukeCops and All-Nuke.

Does anyone know if there is such a block available and if so, where I could get it?

Thanks!

Dave

Yes there is a block like that. The one I have on my site in the downloads section will allow you to use 4 feeds and yes it scrolls also. Have to register to download though, yet thats free also.

RedWolf, I downloaded that block and was going to use it with these RSS feeds:

Top Headlines: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]
NFL Headlines: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]
NBA Headlines: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]
MLB Headlines: [ Register or login to view links on this board. ]

But they won't display. Any thoughts?

ok...I went back over the block a bit and noticed that the one in the downloads was named incorrectly. What I mean by that is the line

if (eregi("block-sports_news.php",

Should also match the name of the block. So lets say you named it the same from inside your block, the outsite name should match. However, even when I tried that I still had problems displaying the info from the feeds. There is hope though because I know the one who adjusted the news block for his site (the one I got the block from) has his forums showing inside the block. So best advice I can give ya is to ask Tag from [ Register or login to view links on this board. ] He was the one who helped me set up my recipe block feed also. I know the block is very finicky.. icon_rolleyes.gif . Sorry I couldnt help you more.

Note* My download is now updated. Block is exactly how it came from am-nuke.net

Thanks for the heads up, RedWolf. I had actually downloaded that block from their site, but your reply made me take a look at the code and see that I could actually hack it to use whatever RSS feeds I wanted. I also made it that it uses 5 feeds instead of 4.

Thanks again!

P.S., I did register at your site as well. Very cool.

Dave
