Hi all, i have lots of IP's ranged 66.249.64.001 to 66.249.64.255

i have read they are google bots, i have about 20 of them on my site 12 hours a day icon_rolleyes.gif

and the google counter isn't picking them up, i have banned the range at the moment because theyre totally anoying and seem to be eating bandwidth, very small but still, it is.

Any explanation or what the ips really are if theyre google bots or not, would be great, and if they are google bots, why the google counter isn't picking em up.

just to add...directly from the download info

The IP's aquired in this list are directly from Google after a few emails and a little negotiating one of the techs was kind enough to email me the list. I will in time check with him for current IP's but for now we have every crawler "currently" spidering. This list is current up to April 2004

so it could be new ip's they are using

then just remove your meta tags form your site and they won't visit you. simple as that

It appears to nearly be the same IP address, looking for a file called emailsforyou, is this some kind of spam bot? Its getting stupid now, i removed meta tags, blocked them, came back home today to find 30 of em on my site icon_rolleyes.gif
